creamsicle cupcakes

i am VERY excited for summer.
can you tell? :)

these creamsicle cupcakes were AMAZING.
you seriously need to try them.

super easy and DELECIOUS

creamsicle cupcake ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
7 tablespoons sugar
2 large eggs
3/4 cup self-rising flour
(you can find this next to the all-purpose flour in the baking aisle)
2 teaspoon orange flavoring
2.5 tablespoons milk

creamsicle cream cheese frosting ingredients
1 stick unsalted butter softened
8 oz cream cheese softened
2.5ish cup powdered sugar
2 tsp orange flavoring

squishy orange candies
(this is a must!)

recipe adapted from here

*this recipe made me 9 perfect cupcakes*
feel free to double :)

directions
1. preheat oven to 375 degrees

2. line your muffin tin with 12 liners

3. mix all ingredients together in a large bowl EXCEPT the milk

4. add milk 1 tablespoon at a time until batter looks super smooth
(i used about 2.5 tablespoons)

5. pour batter evenly into cupcake liners
(you can see that i like more of a poofed up cupcake...
you can make your a bit smaller if you'd like) :)

6. bake for about 12-15 minutes.

7. let cool completely

8. while your cupcakes are baking, you can go ahead and mix up your frosting
mix together the softened butter and cream cheese in a large bowl

9. start mixing in the powdered sugar until you like the taste
(about 2.5-3 cups)

(i go ahead and place my frosting in a large ziplock bag and throw
it into the fridge for about 30 minutes while the cupcakes are baking
and cooling. then, i cut the tip from one of the corners, and use the bag
to pipe the frosting in various designs. no mess, no hassle!)

10. now, assemble to your liking.

11. ENJOY! :)
